Hello health-nuggets!
How about we put some GREEN in 2013? I happen to know the most yummy, super-healthy green smoothie recipe that I wanted to share with you. I try to drink a huge glass of it at least 3x/week for lunch. It is amazing how some of my colleagues will drink coffee and complain 2 hours later how sleepy and tired they are, while I will sip on my green goodness and feel full of energy hours later!
What you will need:
- a blender (and a juicer, if you have one)
- handful of frozen broccoli
- handful of fresh or frozen spinach
- a bunch of fresh mint
- 1 ripe banana
- handful of frozen strawberries (any other berries will do the job too)
- juice of 3 big apples (if you do not have a juicer then just use some 200ml of store-bought freshly-squeezed apple juice
What you will do:
- juice the apples
- in a blender mix the apple juice together with the rest of the ingredients, and voila - the most delicious green smoothie is ready!
- serve it with some fresh berries, if desire :)

Oh! Your smoothie has a really bright green color! You take this every lunch, right? So, do you make it in the office or do you prepare it beforehand? I'm really not a vegetable person, but I want to start living healthy. Maybe I should start with this smoothie recipe first and work my way up. I feel for your officemates! I have the same experience at the office. Do you think it's the coffee? I hope this works well for me!

Hi Joseph! I live pretty close to the office so I am able to quickly walk home and prepare it there as it takes only 5 minutes! :) This one turned out pretty green but it can become more brown-ish if you add more strawberries to it, so it might not look as appealing then :) If you're short on time, then you can also prepare it in the morning before heading to work and just keep it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before drinking it up! Let me know if you tried :)
